After graduation, Hammer attended the University of Southern California, where he studied history and art. However, his passion for acting was stronger, and he left the university to start his film career.

Hammer began his career with small roles in television series before getting his first major break in "The Social Network" (2010), where he played the role of the Winklevoss twin. This film brought him wide recognition and many nominations for various film awards.

After this success, Hammer continued to actively act in films, taking part in various genres from drama to action films and comedies. Some of his famous works include "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (2011), "Suicide Squad" (2016), "Survivor" (2017) and "Fiction" (2020).
