In 1974, Lloyd Kaufman founded the independent film company Troma Entertainment with friend Michael Hertz. Under Kaufman's direction, Troma became known for low-budget b-horror films such as "Toxicity Class" and "Zombie Heart." He not only acted as a director and producer, but also often starred in his own films.
