Allan Sherman - Biography

Sherman (Allan Sherman), full name - Kopelman Sherman (Allan Copelon Sherman), was born on November 30, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He became known as a songwriter, performer and comedian whose musical and comedic skills earned him worldwide recognition.

Allan grew up in a family of Jewish immigrants. He developed an interest in music and comedy from an early age, and his humorous talent quickly became prominent. After graduation, he enrolled at the University of Illinois and then served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

After completing his military service, Allan began working in radio and television, as well as writing humorous articles and short stories for various publications. His talent in comedy was noted and he became a regular on television shows and radio broadcasts.

However, the real breakthrough for Allan was his music career. In 1962, he released an album called "My Son, the Folk Singer," which was a huge success. The album included songs in which Allan combined humor and music, and this gained popularity with the audience.

The following albums, such as "My Son, the Celebrity" and "My Son, the Nut," were also very popular. Allan Sherman's songs such as "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh," "Crazy Downtown" and "Shticks of One and Half a Dozen of the Other" became hits and are still considered classics of American comedy and music.

Allan's personal life was complicated. He married and divorced several times, and his career began to fade in the late 1960s. His health problems and financial difficulties also had a negative impact on his life.
