André Breton - Biography

Breton is a name that will forever remain associated with art and literature of the 20th century. He was a great poet, writer and artist, a leader of the surrealist movement and a creative soul of Parisian bohemians. In this biography, we will talk about his early days, professional path, influence on art and literature, as well as his contribution to surrealism and world culture.

André was born in Normandy, France in 1896. His parents were educated people, and from childhood they instilled in him a love of literature and art. Already in his youth, he began to show his literary talent, writing poetry and essays.

After leaving school, Andre entered the university, where he studied medicine. However, his passion for art and literature proved stronger, and he dropped out to follow his creative aspirations. This decision marked the beginning of his literary career.

André became one of the key figures in the surreal movement, which sought to explore the unconscious and liberate the creative potential of man. His famous work "The Surrealist Manifesto" (1924) became a declaration of art based on the freedom of creativity and the inner world of man.

Surrealism brought new ideas and techniques to art and literature, including automatic writing and collage. André Breton inspired many artists and writers to experiment and produce works that reflected the flow of consciousness and subconscious.

André was not only a leader of the surreal movement, but also a talented poet and writer. His poems and prose were saturated with symbolism and metaphors, reflecting his philosophical views and appeal to the unconscious. His works, such as "Inscriptions on the Walls of the City" and "Inscriptions on the Walls of Paris," left a deep mark on world literature.
