Andrew Lloyd was born on March 22, 1948 in London, England, into a musical family. His mother, Jeanne Webber, was a pianist and his father, William Southcombe Webber, worked as a music professor. Since childhood, Andrew has shown extraordinary musical abilities and passion for composition.
Already at the age of 9, he began to study at Westminster School, where his talent was noticed and developed. At the age of 14, Andrew wrote his first symphony, and this early experience was only the beginning of his great musical career.
In the late 1960s, Andrew Lloyd Webber began collaborating with text writer Tim Rice, a collaboration that launched their successful career together in musicals. Their first joint project, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," was written in 1968 and immediately received acclaim from viewers and critics.
The 1970s and 1980s were the real golden era of the musical performed by Andrew Lloyd. His works, such as Jesus Christ Superstar (1970), Evita (1976) and Cats (1981), became real hits and brought the composer world fame.
