Angela Carter - Biography
Carter was born on 7 May 1940 in London, United Kingdom. Her childhood was not easy, and she often spent time in the library, reading books was her salvation from family difficulties. This experience shaped her love of literature and desire to become a writer.Angela studied at British College and at the University of Bristol, where she studied English literature. Her teachers inspired her literary work, and she began writing poetry and short stories. During this period, she also became interested in feminism and folklore, which influenced her future writing.
