In this biography, we look at the life and work of Angela Davis, her struggle for human rights and social justice, and her contributions to the academic and political field.

Angela Yavonna was born on January 26, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama, to African-American parents. Her family was heavily involved in the civil rights movement, and young Angela witnessed racial discrimination and violence in the Southern States of the United States.

Angela graduated from various universities, including Brandace University, the University of Philadelphia, and the University of Hamburg in Germany, where she studied Marxism and philosophy. Her education became the basis for her further activist and academic efforts.

In the 1960s, Angela Davis joined the civil rights movement and became active in the Communist Party of the United States. Her activism led to her becoming one of the most visible and influential figures in the American human rights movement.
