In 1871 he went to Spain to continue his education. He studied at the University of Zaragosa and later in Madrid, where his fascination with literature and politics began to take shape. Arturovo Marti became a prominent poet, essayist and journalist. His poems were marked by deep lyrics and social orientation. He wrote about poverty, inequality and engaged in social struggle through his work. His poems were emblematic of the struggle for freedom and social justice.

One of the most famous works is the poem "Art Centrism" ("Versos Sencillos"), which became the anthem of Cuban independence. His work also inspired other poets and writers in Latin America and beyond.
