Goldoni (Carlo Goldoni) was born on February 25, 1707 in Venice, Italy, in the family of a physician. His parents hoped that he would also become a doctor, but fate prepared a different path for him. Goldoni became one of the most influential playwrights of his time and is considered the creator of modern comedy.Goldoni received a classical education in the schools of Venice and Padua, but his real passion was theater. He began writing his first plays at a young age and showed his talent in comedy. His parents were against his theatrical ambitions, but that didn't stop him from following his passion.
Carlo began his career as an actor and playwright in provincial theaters in Italy. His first works were in the commedia dell'arte style, but over time he sought to produce more realistic and contemporary plays.
