Born on February 12, 1969, in Brooklyn, New York, he has demonstrated himself from the beginning of his career as a highly talented and eccentric director, capable of making films that break into the viewer's mind and make you think.

Darren began his career with short films and music videos. He quickly gained attention for his original style and ability to tell deep and emotionally intense stories. His first feature film was "Pi" (1998), which immediately attracted interest in his talent and critical acclaim.

One of Darren's most famous films is "Requiem for a Dream" (2000). Based on a novel by Hubert Selby Jr., the film proved to be an unusually influential and shocking work of art. It explores themes of addiction, the destruction of dreams and despair, presenting them in an unusual and rigid way. "Requiem for a Dream" became a cult film and demonstrated the director's skill in the field of difficult topics.
