In this biography, we look at the life and work of Dashel Hammett, his influence on literature and the legacy he left behind in the world of literature and film.

Dashell Hammett was born on May 27, 1894 in Maryland, USA. His childhood was spent in disadvantaged conditions, and he grew up in a large and poor family. Already at a young age, he started working to support his family and left school at the age of 13.
