David Sedaris - Biography
David Sedaris is a name that is immediately associated with humor, irony and the ability to observe the world around us with an unusual look. He is an American author, comedian and storyteller whose work has won over many hearts of readers and listeners around the world. In this biography, we look at the key moments of his life and creativity, from the beginning of his career to today.David was born on December 26, 1956 in New York City, but grew up in Roland, North Carolina. He was one of six children in the Sedaris family. His father Louis Edward was an engineer and his mother Sharon Elizabeth was a housewife. An important part of his family was Jeremy's brother, who also became a noted author and comedian.
Sedaris attended Harvard University, where he studied artistic creativity. Upon graduation, he moved to Chicago, where he began his career in comedy clubs. During this period, he developed his humorous style and studied the art of storytelling.
In 1992, David published his first essay in "Esquire" magazine, titled "Cant Kill the Rooster." This marked the beginning of his publishing career and led to the release of his first book, "Useless Beat from the Diary," in 1994. This book immediately received acclaim from readers and critics for its wit and immediacy.
David Sedaris's popularity grew with each new book. His works, such as "Yes, so long and thank you for all the fish" (1997), "I am never told to be with you" (2000), and "When you finish with this book, you will come and say that I have no taste" (2005), became bestsellers and acquired the status of cult works.
Sedaris's most famous work, "I Will Explain It to You Later" (2008), became a real literary event and brought him wide world fame. In this book, he talks about his childhood and youth years, as well as his experiences in France, where he lived for many years.
