He is an American author, comedian and storyteller whose work has won over many hearts of readers and listeners around the world. In this biography, we look at the key moments of his life and creativity, from the beginning of his career to today.

David was born on December 26, 1956 in New York City, but grew up in Roland, North Carolina. He was one of six children in the Sedaris family. His father Louis Edward was an engineer and his mother Sharon Elizabeth was a housewife. An important part of his family was Jeremy's brother, who also became a noted author and comedian.

In 1992, David published his first essay in "Esquire" magazine, titled "Cant Kill the Rooster." This book immediately received acclaim from readers and critics for its wit and immediacy.

David Sedaris's popularity grew with each new book. His works, such as "Yes, so long and thank you for all the fish" (1997), "I am never told to be with you" (2000), and "When you finish with this book, you will come and say that I have no taste" (2005), became bestsellers and acquired the status of cult works.
