F. Scott Fitzgerald - Biography

Francis Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) is a name that will forever remain in the history of American literature as a symbol of the Shiny Twenties era and the author of the legendary novel The Great Gatsby. In this biography, we explore the life and work of Francis Scott Fitzgerald, his influence on literature and culture, and why his work remains relevant and important until today.

Francis Scott was born September 24, 1896 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Irish immigrants. His parents, Frances Scott Sr. and Molly McCulley, instilled in him a love of literature and education.

Fitzgerald enrolled at Princeton University in 1913, where his literary ambitions began to emerge. He became a member of the literary society and began writing short stories and poetry for student magazines.

In 1920, after serving in the army during World War I, he published his debut novel Denis Calls (1920), which received good reviews, but did not bring him world fame. However, his next novel, "The Enigmatic Beggar" (1922), was the first step towards his success.

The real literary triumph came with the publication of "The Great Gatsby" (1925), a novel that became one of the greatest works of American literature. This novel explored themes of the American dream, wealth, passion and disappointment, and it remains relevant today.

In the following years he continued to write novels and short stories, including "On This Side of Paradise" (1920), "Broken Ray" (1934) and "The Last Dash" (1941). His works attracted readers with their lively descriptions of American life and the era.
