Francis Bacon - Biography

Bacon (Francis Bacon) is a name associated with the revolution in philosophy, science and methodology. The English philosopher, politician and scientific thinker of the 16th-17th centuries left an indelible mark on the history of philosophy and science. In this biography, we will tell you about the life and philosophical ideas of a Bacon, his contribution to the development of empiricism, the scientific method and its influence on modern thinking.

Francis was born on January 22, 1561 in York, England, into a family of aristocrats. His father was Lord Privy Seal and his mother was a daughter of the Archbishop of Canterbury. From an early age, he showed an extraordinary ability to study and logical thinking.

Francis received his classical education at Trinity College, University of Cambridge and later continued his studies in Greece and Italy. Returning to England, he began his political career and became a Member of Parliament. His ability to argue and analyze events helped him take up high public office.

Francis became one of the founders of empiricism - a philosophical direction that asserts that knowledge comes from experience and observation of the world. His work "New Organon" (New Organon) made a significant contribution to the development of the scientific method and methodology and became one of the key texts of the Scientific Revolution.

Bacon called for the use of experimentation and observation to gain knowledge of the world. His method of scientific research, based on the collection of facts and empirical data, became the foundation for the future development of science and research methodology.

Francis also expressed criticism of Aristotle's philosophy, arguing that his method of study was too dogmatic and did not contribute to the development of science. He called for more open research and rejected authority-based dogmas.
