Schiller began his literary career as a poet and playwright. He was known for his poems and dramas, which dealt with important philosophical and ethical topics. His first drama, "The Robbers" (Die Räuber), was published in 1781 and immediately attracted public attention. In this play, he protested against social inequalities and tyranny.
Schiller was also known for his philosophical works and poems in which he explored issues of freedom, morality, and human destiny. He was a close friend and writer of Johann Wolfgang Goethe, and their joint efforts had a significant impact on German romance and philosophy.
Among the most famous works are the plays "Intrigues and Love" (Kabale und Liebe), "Wallenstein" (Wallenstein), "Maria Stuart" (Maria Stuart), "William Tell" (Wilhelm Tell) and the poem "Ode an die Freude" (Ode an die Freude), which later became the basis for part of the Ninth Symphony of Ludwig van Hoven.
