Gottfried von was born on 1 July 1646 in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany. His parents were enlightened and educated, and they encouraged Gottfried's interest in sciences and philosophy from an early age. His father was a professor of law, and his mother was the daughter of a famous doctor.
Goffman went to university in Leipzig, where he studied law and philosophy. He soon became known for his abilities in mathematics and philosophy. His interest in philosophy led him to Hanover, where he became court philosopher for the Duke and Duchess of Brunsvik-Lüneburg.

Gottfried von left an indelible mark on the world of philosophy, mathematics, logic and literature. His philosophical writings, such as "Monadology" and "New Experiences on Human Mind," became classics of rational philosophy and influenced many philosophers, including Leibniz.
