In this biography, we will tell you about the life and work of Isaac Bashevis Singer, from his childhood in Yaronov and his youth in Warsaw, to his world fame and contribution to Jewish literature.

Isaac Bashevis was born on July 14, 1902 in the village of Yaronov, which was then in the Russian Empire (now in Poland). He was the ninth child in the rabbi's family. As a child, he was surrounded by a rich Jewish tradition and mythology that had a huge impact on his future work. His father, Moshe Singer, was a respected rabbi and scholar, which also told a huge impact on the young Isaac.

In his youth, Isaac studied at the heder, studied classical Jewish texts and theology. He also took an interest in literature and often read classic novels and short stories in Yiddish. His first literary attempts began as early as his teens, when he began writing poetry and short stories.
