John Keples - Biography
Keples was born on December 27, 1571 in Weiss, England, and became one of the greatest scientists and philosophers of his time. His life and scientific career left a deep mark on the history of science and philosophy.John was born into the family of a small merchant, but his extraordinary mind and passion for the sciences quickly singled him out among his peers. He attended the Royal Grammar School, Greenwich, where he developed an interest in mathematics and astronomy. His talent was noticed and he was given a scholarship place at Cambridge University.
John became famous for his work in astronomy and physics. He was a supporter of the heliocentric system proposed by Nicholas Copernicus, and made many observations of planets and stars. As a result of his research, he formulated three laws of planetary motion that became known as laws.
1. The first law (the law of elliptical orbits) states that planets move in elliptical orbits, with the Sun in one of the tricks.
2. The second law (the law of equal areas) describes the speed of planets at different points in their orbits, arguing that the radius vector drawn from the Sun to the planet notes equal areas in equal intervals of time.
3. The third law (the law of periods) relates the period of rotation of the planet around the Sun with its average distance from the Sun.
