Kaoru Mori - Biography
Mori was born on September 18, 1978 in Tokyo, Japan. Her interest in art manifested itself from an early childhood, and she began to draw her own comics in her childhood. Her passion for manga and desire to explore different aspects of life and culture soon became key features of her work.After graduating from high school, Kaoru attended Tokyo University of the Arts, where she studied art and manga. Her education largely shaped her artistic style and inspired the creation of unique manga.
Kaoru's career began in 1999, when she released her debut comic strip, Charles and a Thousand One Nights (Shirley). This story about the life and relationships of ordinary people in the modern world was the first step towards its future successes.
Her real breakthrough was the manga "House by the Big Tree" (Otoyomegatari), which was first published in 2008. This work, which tells about life in different cultures and eras, brought Kaor world fame and many awards. Her unique style and colorful illustrations made this manga popular not only in Japan, but also abroad.
Kaoru Mori influenced manga and art with her unique perspective on life and culture. Her work often focuses on the lives of ordinary people, and she explores various aspects of their existence, be it family relations, rituals or cultural features. Her art, rich in detail and incredibly colorful, represents the world she creates.
