Kim Il Sung - Biography

Sen is a name that has become synonymous with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the authoritarian regime established in this country. This political leader and revolutionary made a huge contribution to the history of the Korean Peninsula and became one of the most counter-revolutionary figures in world politics. In this text, we will talk about the life and political career of Sen.

Kim Il was born on April 15, 1912 in the village of Mangyong in a family of peasants. His early years were a time of political upheaval and struggle for Korean independence from Japanese colonization. In the 1920s, Kim Il joined the anti-colonial movement and became active in student protests.

In 1930, Kim Il left Korea and went to China, where he joined the communist organization. His political beliefs and revolutionary ideas formed during this time, and he began a rapid political career in the ranks of the communist movement.

In 1945, after the defeat of Japan in World War II, the Korean Peninsula faced a power vacuum, and Kim Il returned to his homeland. He became one of the key figures in the struggle for power and influence on the Korean Peninsula. In 1948, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) was established with Kim Il Sung as the first prime minister and later president.

However, the DPRK quickly became one of the most isolated and authoritarian countries in the world. Under the leadership of Kim Il Sung, power became concentrated in his hands, and political opposition was brutally suppressed. This led to the creation of a cult of personality around Kim Il Sung, which was equated to a divine figure.

Kim Il also played an important role in the events of the Korean War (1950-1953), a conflict that led to the division of the Korean Peninsula into North and South Korea. The war ended with a truce, but has not yet been completed with a peace treaty, and the DPRK remains in a state of enmity with South Korea.
