Leo Tolstoy - Biography

Nikolaevich Tolstoy is one of the loudest and most respected names in world literature and philosophy. A Russian writer, thinker and philosopher, he left an indelible mark on cultural history and is considered one of the greatest writers of all time. In this biography, we look at the life path of Leo Tolstoy, his contribution to literature and philosophy, and the influence of his works and ideas on world society.

Leo was born on September 9, 1828 in Yasnaya Polyana, near Tula, into a noble aristocratic family. His childhood and early years were spent in an atmosphere of luxury and well-being, but family traditions, upbringing and education had a profound impact on the formation of his personality and worldview.

After graduating from the law faculty of Moscow University and serving in the army, he returned to his family estate in Yasnaya Polyana and began to write. His early works, such as "Childhood" (1852) and "Adolescence" (1854), reflected his personal experience and internal searches.

Leo's most famous and important work was the novel "War and Peace" (1865-1869). The epic story about Napoleon's wars with Russia and the fate of the main characters brought Tolstoy worldwide recognition and fame. This work is considered one of the peaks of Russian and world literature and is distinguished by a deep philosophical study.

Another important work was the novel "Anna Karenina" (1875-1877), which tells about the complex feelings and moral dilemmas of the main characters. This work also received worldwide recognition and became one of the greatest novels about love and human relations.

Leo was not only a great writer, but also a thinker and philosopher. His writings and essays addressed a variety of important topics such as morality, faith, violence, education, and social justice. He expressed his beliefs in the philosophy of "Tolstoyism," which called for nonviolence, simplicity, and spiritual development.
