Biography of L'Angle - The Life and Work of the Great American Author of Children's Books and Fantastic Novels

Madeleine L'Engle was born on November 29, 1918 in New York, USA. She grew up in a family with pedagogical roots and has been surrounded by books and art since childhood. It had a huge impact on her future creativity and style.

Madeline attended Smith College, where she studied literature and psychology. Her interest in writing began to develop from an early age, and she began publishing her poems and short stories while still at school. Her first published book was the novel "The Small Rain," which was published in 1945.

However, Madeline began to write children's books and science fiction novels with real success and recognition. In 1962, she published her most famous novel, "Through Time" ("A Wrinkle in Time"), which became the first part of the Murry series. This book follows the adventures of Meg Murry and her brothers in search of their missing father and explores themes of time, space and good versus evil. "Through Time" won a Newbury Award and became a classic of children's literature.

Madeline L'Engle continued to write books that addressed important life and philosophical issues. Her novels "Light Falling on a Star" ("A Swift Tilting Planet") and "Tracks in the Sand" ("Many Waters") also became popular with young readers and received critical acclaim. She has received numerous awards for her writing, including the Princess of Asturias Medal.

Madeline was an active member of the church community and her faith had a profound influence on her work. She was also a supporter of women's rights and social transformation. Her writing often addresses moral and ethical issues.
