Marie Kondo - Biography

Kondo is a name associated with the art of cleaning and creating harmony in the house. A Japanese organizer and best-selling author, Kondo has become a global icon in organization and cleaning. Her methodology, known as KonMari, has gained popularity around the world and helped millions of people transform their homes and lives. In this biography, we review Kondo's life, analyze KonMari's methodology, and analyze its impact on the world of organization and cleaning.

Marie was born on October 9, 1984 in Tokyo, Japan. Her interest in organization and order was evident from her earliest years. As a child, she often cleaned and organized things in her room, applying sorting systems that she developed on her own.

After graduating, Marie began her career as an organization and cleaning consultant. She founded her own consulting company and began to develop her cleaning methodology and organization, which was later called KonMari.

The KonMari methodology, developed by Marie Kondo, is based on a simple but powerful philosophy - to preserve only what brings joy. In fact, this means that when cleaning and organizing the house, you need to discard everything superfluous and save only those things that are really important and bring happiness. Her method involves certain steps, such as "saying goodbye to things" and cleaning by category, and it promotes a harmonious and cozy home setting.

In 2011, Marie Kondo published her first book, "Jinsei ga Tokimeku Katazuke no Mahou" (which can be translated as "Cleaning Magic: The Art of Turning Clutter into Joy"). The book became an instant bestseller in Japan and brought it worldwide fame. She later rewrote the book into English and released it under the title "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up," which also became a bestseller.

Due to her success, Marie received an invitation to participate in various television projects. She became the host of the show "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo," released on the Netflix platform. In this show, she helps families and people across America clean their homes and find joy in order.
