Johnson is a name that has become synonymous with legendary speed and uncompromising superiority on the treadmill. Born on September 17, 1967 in Dallas, Texas, Johnson has shown incredible talent and passion for track and field since he was a child.

Mike grew up in a sports family, and his parents always supported his desire for the sport. He first developed an interest in baseball, but soon discovered that his true passion was running. During his school years, he stood out on the treadmill, and already in 1987, as a student at Baylor University, Mike became a top-class athlete.

Mike made his first outburst on the world athletic scene in 1991 when he claimed a gold medal in the 200 metres at the World Championships in Tokyo. But it was only the beginning of his impressive career.

At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​ ​ Mike won his first Olympic medal - silver in the 4x400 meters. However, the present moment of fame came for him at the next Olympic Games in 1996 in Atlanta. There he showed the world his incredible speed and resilience, winning two gold medals in the 200m and 400m.

Mike Johnson continued his dominance of the athletics world and taking gold in various events. But his real historic victory was competing at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. There he decided to face an incredible challenge - an attempt to win two gold medals at the Olympics in 200 meters and 400 meters, which no one has yet succeeded.

And Mike handled that challenge. Not only did he win both medals, he also set new world records in both disciplines. His time of 43.49 seconds in the 400 metres remains unrivalled so far.
