The first literary success came to Mikhail Bulgakov in the early 1920s, when his stories and plays began to be published in various literary magazines. However, the real fame and recognition was the novel "The Master and Margarita," written in the 1930s, but published only after the death of the author. This work, mixing realism and fantasy, has become a classic of world literature and one of the most famous novels of the 20th century. For his work and open criticism of the Soviet regime, Mikhail faced censorship and repression. His plays and short stories were banned, and "The Master and Margarita" could not be published in Soviet Russia. These difficulties and pressure from the authorities greatly affected health.
