Mikhail Gorbachev - Biography

Sergeyevich Gorbachev is a name that became synonymous with the end of the twentieth century and changes in world politics. His reign was a period when historical changes took place in the Soviet Union and in the world. Mikhail was born on March 2, 1931 in the Volga Territory, in the village of Prikolotnoye, in a family of peasants. His childhood was spent in a small rural settlement where the Gorbachev family lived in poverty. Nevertheless, the parents encouraged the education of their son, and Michael showed great interest in his studies.

After graduating from high school, he entered Lomonosov Moscow State University, where he began to study law. At this university, he first encountered politics and joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

Mikhail began his political career in 1955, working for the Communist Party. He quickly moved up the party ladder through his ability and devotion to the ideals of communism. In 1970, he became secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU.

In 1985, Mikhail Gorbachev became General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and later President of the USSR. His rise to power was the beginning of a new era in the history of the country.

Under the leadership of Mikhail, a periodic restructuring of the Soviet economy and society began.
