Aleksandrovich Sholokhov is a name that stands on a par with the great Russian writers of the past and present. Mikhail was born on May 24, 1905 in the Don village of Vyakhirevo, in the Kuban, in a family of peasants. He was the fourth child in the family and grew up in the difficult conditions of peasant life at the beginning of the 20th century. These early years greatly influenced his later work, for he witnessed many events and learned about the life of ordinary people from the inside.

Sholokhov began his studies at a local school, and then entered the Rostov Polytechnic Institute, where he studied journalism. Even at a young age, he began to publish his first stories and articles in local newspapers, showing a talent for the word and literary expressiveness.

However, his epic novel "Quiet Don" became a real breakthrough in his career.
