Molyer - Biography

: Life and Creativity of the Great French Comediographer

Jean-Baptist Poquelin, better known by his pseudonym Moliere, became one of the greatest comedians in the history of the theater. His comedies and performances left an indelible mark on world art, and his name became a symbol of humor and satire. In this biography, we look at his life, creativity and influence on modern drama and theater.

Moliere was born on 15 January 1622 in Paris, France. His father was a royal shoemaker and the family lived in poverty. However, the young Jean-Baptist showed an early interest in theatre and the arts. He attended Clermo College, where he became acquainted with classical literature and drama.

From a young age, Molier was drawn to the world of theater and became an actor in a comedy troupe. His talent and comic gift quickly attracted attention, and he decided to devote his life to the theater.

Molyer began his career as an actor and playwright, creating comedies for his company. His early work was in the style of Italian commedia del arte, but he gradually developed his own style and methods of comic play.

One of his most famous and successful comedies was Tartuffe, which caused a scandal and was banned by church authorities because of its satire on religiosity. Molyer went on to create comedies, discussing different aspects of society and human nature. His works, such as The Misanthrope and The Miser, have become classics of the comedy genre and remain relevant to this day.
