Jester (Neville Shute), real name Jester Norwich, was born on January 17, 1899 in Elderton, London, England. He became known as one of the most popular and readable English writers of the 20th century, but his life and career were much more diverse and interesting than one could imagine.Neville grew up in an engineering family, and his interest in mechanics and aviation was evident from an early age. During the First World War, Neville served in the Royal Corps of Engineers and worked in the field of military aviation. His experience in aviation and engineering proved important for his future career and inspired literary works about aerial adventure.
After the war, he worked in the aviation industry and was engaged in the development and production of aircraft. His engineering achievements included the creation of light aircraft and hydroplanes. His work in this area had a significant impact on the development of aviation.
