Osip Emilievich was born on January 15, 1891 in Warsaw, which was then part of the Russian Empire. His family was Jewish, and the young Osip quickly developed an interest in literature and poetry. He studied at St. Petersburg University, where he met the literary elite of his time.

Since the beginning of his poetry career, he has shown a unique talent and style. His poems were vivid and figurative, and he quickly gained recognition among other writers and poets.
