Peter Stephen Powell was born on March 31, 1925 in London, England. His father, Cyrus Leonard Brook, was a famous Jewish actor, and his mother, Irina Werteiman, also had artistic ambitions. In 1945, Peter Brook founded the Globe Theater, which became the site for his theatrical experiments and innovative approaches to directing. He presented a number of outstanding performances to the audience, such as "An Evening at Elsinore" (1950) and "King Lear" (1962). These productions impressed viewers with unusual interpretations of classical works and the use of modern methods of acting.
