Peter Jackson attended the University of Wellington but soon realised his true passion was cinema. He dropped out and founded his own film company, WingNut Films, with friends, starting to create short films and commercials.

Peter Jackson's journey to global fame began with the film "Wandering Souls" (Bad Taste) in 1987. This low-budget horror comedy was created practically on the knee, but drew attention to the director's unconventional vision.

The next important stage was the film "Dumb" (Braindead) in 1992, which became a cult among fans of the horror genre.

However, the real explosion was the creation of the trilogy "The Lord of the Rings." Peter Jackson decided on this ambitious project, which included three films based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.
