Pierre Augustin Caron de (9 April 1821 - 7 August 1869) was a name that would forever remain associated with the great French literature of the 19th century. Pierre Augustin Caron de was born in Nice, France. His family was educated and wealthy, and the young Pierre had access to the vast library and cultural events of his time. Already at an early age, he showed an interest in literature and poetry.

After leaving school, Caron de entered the University of Paris, where he studied philosophy and literature. In Paris, he became acquainted with a circle of literary figures and began publishing his poems and essays. Pierre Augustin Caron de Bozian was famous for his poems and prose. His poetic works, such as "Flowers of Evil" ("Les Fleurs du Mal"), became classics of French literature. In this famous poem, written in 1857, he explored themes of sin, passion and depravity, which caused counterversions in society of the time. "Flowers of Evil" left a deep mark on literature and became an important work of symbolism and modernism.

Caron de was also the author of a number of prose works, including the novel "Les Petits Poèmes en Prose," in which he explored the themes of life in the city, moral ambivalence and dreams.
