Pierre Chauderlot de was born on October 18, 1741 in Paris, France, into a family of aristocrats. He later entered the Lyceum of Versailles, where he also deepened his knowledge of literature and social sciences.

His first publication was the novel "Didonne, or the Ode of Rome," which was published in 1772. He also wrote poetry, plays and essays, but he gained real fame through the novel "Dangerous Connections," published in 1782.

"Dangerous Connections" became his magnum opus and one of the most famous works of French literature. The novel describes the intrigue and sexual manipulation of the aristocracy before the start of the French Revolution. This work caused a storm of scandals and discussions, but also brought fame and recognition to the author.
