Richard Curtis' first successes in cinema were related to work in television. In the 1980s, he began a writing career working on popular television shows such as "Not the Nine O'Clock News" and "Blackadder." His humor and ability to create vivid dialogue caught the attention of viewers and critics.
However, real success came to Richard Curtis in the 1990s, when he began making films. His directorial debut, Four Weddings and a Funeral, released in 1994, became an instant hit and brought him worldwide fame. From that moment began his career as a creator of romantic comedies.
