Rudiard Kipling - Biography

Kipling is a name associated with the great English writer and poet, the author of unforgettable works such as "The Jungle Book" and "Kim." His work has been translated into many languages and remains popular to this day. In this biography, we look at the life and work of a Kipling, starting with his childhood and ending with the influence on world literature.

Rudiard was born on 30 December 1865 in Mumbai, India, then part of British India. His parents, John Lockwood and Alyssa MacDonald Kipling, were English, and Rudiard was the first child of the family.

Kipling's childhood was spent in the exotic atmosphere of India, and this environment greatly influenced his future work. He attended local schools and developed his interest in literature and writing.

In 1882, after returning to England, Rudiard began his literary career publishing his poems and short stories in various magazines. His talent was critically acclaimed and he received widespread acclaim.

In 1892, Kipling married Caroline (Carrie) Starling, daughter of an American artist. Their marriage was long and happy, and they had three children. The family played an important role in Kipling's life and supported him in his creative aspirations.

Rudiard Kipling's early works included poems, short stories and novels. However, he gained the greatest fame for his jungle stories, such as The Jungle Book (1894) and Treasures of the Valley (1892). These works about the jungle and its inhabitants, such as Mowgli and Bagira, became classics of children's literature and won many fans around the world.
