Samuel Taylor was born on 21 October 1772 in Ottrey, Cumberland, England. His parents were parishioners and he grew up in a religious family. They worked together on a collection of poems called "Lyrical Ballads," which became an important event in the history of English poetry. In addition to poetry, Samuel Taylor Coleridge was also famous for his philosophical works.
