Sergey Yesenin - Biography
Sergei Aleksandrovich Yesenin was born on October 3, 1895 in the village of Konstantinovo, Ryazan province, into a peasant family. He began writing poetry from an early age, inspired by the beauty of Russian nature and folk culture, which became key themes of his work.In 1915, Yesenin moved to Petrograd, where he quickly entered literary circles and began to publish. His early works earned him a reputation as one of the leading Imagist poets, a movement focusing on vivid imagery and emotional expressiveness.
In 1921, Yesenin met American dancer Isadora Duncan, and they married the same year. This marriage, although short-lived, drew considerable attention to Yesenin both in Russia and abroad. However, the poet's personal life was full of tragedies and scandals, which were often reflected in his poems.
In the last years of his life, Yesenin began to criticize the Soviet government, which was reflected in his later poems, including the famous work "The Black Man." His poems from this period express a deep mental crisis and despair.
Sergei Yesenin died on December 28, 1925 in Leningrad at the age of 30, leaving behind a significant literary legacy. His lyrics, full of pathetics and nostalgia for lost Russia, continue to touch the hearts of readers around the world.
