Søren Kierkegaard - Biography
Biography a Kierkegaard - Life and Philosophical Contribution of the Danish ThinkerSøren Kierkegaard is a name that remains in the history of philosophy as one of the most influential and original. This Danish thinker of the 18th-19th centuries became one of the most important figures of existentialism and religious philosophy. In this biography, we look at key moments in his life, education, philosophical beliefs, and contributions to modern philosophy and literature.
Søren was born on 5 May 1813 in Copenhagen, Denmark. His family was rich and educated, and Søren received an excellent education. However, his childhood and early years were marked by family tragedies, including the death of his mother, which had a profound impact on his worldview and thought aspirations.
Søren studied at the University of Copenhagen, where he studied philosophy and theology. His teaching interests proceeded from a desire to understand the meaning of faith and the existence of man. His dissertation "On the concept of truth" ("Om Begrebet Ironi med stadigt Hensyn til Socrates," 1841) at a young age attracted the attention of the academic community.
Søren Kierkegaard was not only a philosopher, but also a writer. His works, including "Fear and Awe" ("Frygt og Bæven"), "Essential Christianity" ("Indøvelse i Christendom"), and "The Man Who Knelt" ("Mennesket er at Tænke") often take the form of literary works and psychological stories in which he explored issues of faith, personality and subjectivity.
"Fear and Awe," one of Kierkegaard's best-known works, considers the history of Abraham and Isaac in the context of faith and religious paradox. "Existing Christianity" is an in-depth analysis of the essence of Christianity and raises questions about its true understanding.
