Spike Lee - Biography
It was March 20, 1957, when Shelton Jackson Lee, who became known to the world as Lee, was born in Atlanta, Georgia. A's parents, Jeca and Jamie Lee, worked at the university and raised him in the spirit of creativity and education.Already in his youth, cinema was interested and began to shoot short films with an 8-mm camera. His first feature was "The Last Subway Train" (1986), which tells the story of young African Americans in Brooklyn. The film was the first step toward recognizing Lee as a talented filmmaker capable of expressing complex social themes.
The next major stage in his career was the film "The Rules of the Game" (1989), which explores racial and class issues in modern America. The film received a jury award at the Cannes Film Festival and established as a director with a voice and opinion.
