Victoria Hugo - Biography

Victor Hugo is a name associated with great literary works, humanism and the struggle for justice. A French writer, poet and playwright, he left an indelible mark on the history of literature and politics. In this biography, we look at his life, career and influence on world literature.

Victor Hugo was born on February 26, 1802 in the city of Besançon, France. He grew up in a family of educated parents and from childhood showed an interest in literature and art. His mother, Sophie Hugo, is considered one of the key figures who inspired him to the writer's path.

He received his education in Paris, where he quickly became known as a young and talented poet. His first poems attracted admiration and recognition among Parisian writers.

Victor Hugo began his literary career as a poet, and his first famous collection of poems, "Pargela Ballads" (Les Châtiments), was published in 1853. He also wrote several plays, but was best known for novels.

One of Hugo's most famous novels is Notre-Dame de Paris, also known as The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. The novel was published in 1831 and became a world bestseller. He tells the story of a quasi-modo, the hunchback bell of Notre Dame Cathedral, and his crush on the gypsy girl Esmeralda. The novel raises important questions about justice, bias and human nature.

Another famous work of Hugo is Les Misérables, published in 1862. This novel follows the lives of various characters during the French Revolution and has a deep social context. It became a classic of world literature and has been adapted into many films and musicals.
