Arkady and Boris Strugatsky - It's hard to be God
In the novel "It's Hard to Be God," the Strugatsky create a complex world in which the action takes place on a planet at the stage of feudal development. The main character, Rumata Estorsky, travels to this planet with the goal of studying and helping in its development, but faces difficulties in trying not to interfere in local affairs and maintain neutrality. As Rumata observes the cruel and unfair practices of local society, he begins to wonder about his role and responsibility, as well as the boundaries of intervention and humanism. The novel delves deeply into questions about power, moral dilemmas and human nature.
