Kate Nigels was able at the last moment to get the desired position of architect-designer at the prestigious Stevens firm. Her designs impressed the firm's head, Reginald Stevens, who was simply fascinated by her talent. Together with colleague Phil, they delivered their designs just before another job contender arrived.

Phil expressed doubts about the newcomer: "Now it's so fashionable to roll from Paris, they push such people there." Reginald instructed Phil to talk to a colleague of Mabel's so that she would "shake a little," but admitted that it was not worth upsetting her, let her dress as she wants. Ultimately, Reginald was confident in Kate's talent and decided to hire her.

However, the emergence of a new candidate, Rawlinson, raised doubts for Phil. Reginald explained that Rawlinson has a European background and experience in construction, which can be beneficial to the firm. He offered to hire Rawlinson as a civil engineer in a pair with Kate. Phil was resentful of Reginald for his words, but agreed.

Phil led Rawlinson to Reginald and then discovered a transformed Kate, who joyfully welcomed him. Reginald declared Keith an architect and Rawlinson a civil engineer, and ordered them to begin work. After making a hilarious joke, Kate asked for a kiss, but Phil quickly sent her into the elevator for fear of exposure.

Phil, still feeling some concern about Rawlinson's arrival, went to his office, where he tried to gather his thoughts. He began to inspect documents and projects, trying to concentrate on work, but he could not get his thoughts on recent events out of his mind.

Suddenly, Reginald entered his office, accompanied by Rawlinson. "Phil, you should meet our new employee," Reginald said. Phil, holding back his feelings, politely greeted Rawlinson and offered him a seat.

"Rawlinson, you've already met Kate, our architect. You will work closely together in the work, "explained Reginald.

"With pleasure, of course," Rawlinson replied with a smile, and Phil couldn't help but notice his attractive looks and politeness.

Reginald talked a little with Phil about current projects and plans for the future, then wished them success and left the office. Phil was left alone with Rawlinson and his anxiety began to gradually dissipate.
