Playing with the Devil

On the roof of the skyscraper, where the wind is bursting with frantic force, autumn spread its cold wings. Eager to break out of my cold embrace, I stand on the edge, staring down at the endless digs below. As an anthill, life continues its course, everything seems to be moving somewhere, fulfilling its assignments. But all this seems insignificant to me. My last entertainment, watching this hustle and bustle, almost came to an end.

The sound of a creaking door behind my back made me turn around. He rose to the roof - a strange, thin guy, with a face full of sadness and fatigue. His hair was started, and the smell of him was simply impossible to describe. As he approached the edge, he, like me, stared down and then looked up.

"What do you want from me?!" 'There was a cry from him. "I do not understand! Why are you making me do this?! "

I flew up to him and whispered quietly in his ear, "You've chosen your own way."

"You're lying! You said that was my purpose! " 'the guy replied, his voice trembling with emotion.

"And you accepted it," I replied, flying over his shoulder.

'But I don't want to! I can't do any more! " - the guy collapsed to his knees, filling the place with tragic tears. "Why did you appear in my life?!"

I smiled and put my arm around his shoulders. "You called me on your own. You asked for your life to be better, and I heard your call. "

'You're the devil! You're tricking me into stealing my soul! " 'the guy screamed.

"Ah, you took a bite out of me," I pretended to be upset. 'But I really need your soul. I can offer you a contract. "

"what do you want?" 'the guy asked, his voice sounded weak.

"Fame! I want to be recognized as a genius! " 'he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with inspiration.

"Fair. But remember that geniuses are not recognized during life, "I warned him.

The guy broke out with a fire of determination. "Yes! You're right! All geniuses die early! I want everyone to understand! " 'he exclaimed.

After the guy accepted my offer, I flew down, knowing that tomorrow there would be news in the newspapers about his death. As long as he seeks recognition, I'll go look for the next victim.

With a sigh, I look at the guy who is flying down and follow him. His name will fill the headlines tomorrow. But before that happens, I need to make some preparations.

After waiting for the wind to subside on the roof and most of the tenants leave their apartments, I go down the stairwell and enter the guy's apartment. When the door opens, I am greeted by a scent that makes me squeeze my beak. But I shrug it off and head to the table where what brought me here lies.

Gently pushing back leftover food and avoiding cobwebs and mould, I open a notebook of manuscripts. As I go through the pages, I notice passion and talent in the guy's words. He dreamed of becoming an artist, but his talent was lost amid endless aspirations.

I turn on the computer, hoping to find something of value there. But my search is in vain. I understand that I will have to leave the guy without inspiration, let him figure it out himself. After all, I already have a new victim waiting for their time.

Having gathered my thoughts, I leave the apartment and soar into the night sky, where the stars shine as witnesses to my deals. My game with the devil continues, and I already know that the next step will be even more amazing.

The next day, I flew over the city, watching the news of the guy's death spread. Newspaper headlines, conversations on the streets, viral social media posts - everything was riddled with the name of my latest victim.

But my work is not over yet. I flew away looking for the next soul ready to make a deal. And I was lucky - I found her after a few hours.

This time, my sacrifice turned out to be a young singer, striving for fame and recognition. Her voice was amazing, but she was forgotten among thousands of other talented performers. I approached her, offered a deal and she accepted it without hesitation.

Again, I saw my work in business when a new musical phenomenon burst into the world of show business. Her voice penetrated the hearts of millions, and her name became the ear of everyone.

But for me it was just another step in my game. I kept looking for new candidates willing to give their souls in exchange for promises of fame and success. And every time I made a new deal, my power and influence grew.

It went on for centuries and I wasn't going to stop. After all, for me it was just a game with the devil, in which I was the devil himself.

With each new deal, I felt my strength grow, my game with the devil become more difficult and exciting. I enjoyed every moment a new partner would fall in front of my artful play with words and promises.

But over time, doubts began to arise. Against the background of my victories and triumphs, I began to notice the traces of destruction that my game left behind. Shattered dreams, shattered lives, distorted fates all came as a reminder of the price I have to pay for my power.

Still, I kept my game going, ignoring those doubts and stifling my conscience. Every new deal brought me more satisfaction, more power. I have become a monster who devours human souls in his endless thirst for power and control.

But even the most insidious player sometimes faces something he can't control. And one day, at the most inopportune moment, one of my deals spiralled out of control, bringing destruction and suffering at a level never before seen.

This catastrophic episode made me think. I realized that my game with the devil was out of control, that I was the cause of suffering and destruction. And at that point I realised I had to stop this endless game before it was too late.

So I decided to change my destiny, giving up my power and becoming part of a kinder and more merciful reality. And although it was a tough choice, I knew that this was the only way I could find true happiness and correct the mistakes I made.

So my game with the devil ended, and a new stage in my life began - the stage of redemption and revival.

Over time, I learned to use my knowledge and experience to help people in need. I began to turn to those who suffered from the consequences of their own deals with the devil to give them hope for a new beginning. My goal now was to correct the wrongs of the past and bring light and healing to those who needed it.

By helping others, I found true meaning in my life. My heart was filled with kindness and compassion, and my actions brought relief and hope to those who suffered. I realized that true power lies not in power and control, but in the ability to do good and change the world for the better.

This is how I continue my journey, striving to help others and bring light into the darkness. My game with the devil is over, but my new journey is just beginning. And I am ready to accept his challenges with an open heart and determination to do good in this world.
