American Historic X (1998)
The film follows the life and transformation of the protagonist, Derek Wynyard (played by Edward Norton), a former skinhead and neo-Nazi who comes out of prison aware of the mistakes of his past and seeking to change his life. Influenced by his younger brother Danny (played by Edward Furlong), Derek joined a skinhead group and was involved in violence and hatred of minorities, especially blacks.However, after Derek participates in the murder of a black man and goes to prison, he begins to rethink his beliefs. In prison, he finds protection and support from a black inmate he previously despised. Under his influence and through personal experiences, Derek realizes the madness of his rascism and decides to change his life.
After being released, Derek seeks to prevent his brother Danny from following his path. He tries to dissuade him from participating in a skinhead group and spreading hatred. But his attempts are under threat when Danny becomes embroiled in a conflict with local black gangs.
Ultimately, Derek realizes that the real change begins with himself, and he is bitterly aware of the dire consequences of his past offensive against racial prejudice.
