Twenty-seven years after the events of the first part, the members of the Losers of the club return to their hometown of Derry to again face nightmares from childhood and end the bloody evil known as Penywise. After the boy's disappearance, strange and creepy events begin to take place in the city, reminding them that nightmares can return.

Bill, Beverly, Ben, Richie, Eddie, and Mike re-unite to confront Penywise and his sinister forces. Each of them must face their own fears and demons of the past in order to find the strength to fight them.

In an attempt to solve the secrets of Penywise and his connection with their own past, the Losers are forced to return to childhood and reconsider their darkest memories.
