Moonlight (2016)

The film follows the life of Shearon, a black man, at various stages of his life - childhood, adolescence and maturity. Shearon grows up in a Miami slum where she faces issues of racism, poverty and a lack of understanding of her sexual orientation.

As a child, Shearon (then called "Little") is faced with peer bullying and misunderstanding of others, and also tries to settle a difficult relationship with a drug addict mother. As a teenager, he falls in love with his best friend Kevin, which brings him even more confusion and fear of his sexual identity.
