Old man Hottabych (1976)

The story takes place in a Soviet town, where the boy Vovochka finds an old lamp and accidentally evokes a spirit that turns out to be nothing more than a kind and cheerful Hottabych. Hottabych promises to fulfill Vovochka's three wishes, but on condition that each desire will bring not only benefits, but also lessons for the boy.

With the help of Hottabych, Vovochka overcomes various obstacles and trials, learning to appreciate friendship, honesty and kindness.
