Shine (1980)
The plot of the film takes place in the remote hotel complex "Overlook," located in the mountains of Colorado. Jack Torrens, a writer and former teacher, is hired as a hotel caretaker during the winter along with his wife Wendy and son Danny. However, immediately after the family arrives at the scene, strange and frightening events begin to occur.Danny discovers his mysterious ability, called "radiance," which allows him to see things the others cannot see. At the same time, Jack begins to plunge into madness under the influence of the ominous forces present at the hotel, and gradually loses his mind. Under the influence of the hotel, he becomes more and more aggressive and dangerous for his family.
Wendy tries to protect himself and his son from Jack, who is plunged into an increasingly deep psychosis, becoming a toy in the hands of dark forces awakened by the hotel. Their struggle for survival turns into a nightmare, which forces Wendy and Danny to use all their strength and intuition to escape the horror that took over the hotel.
