When Hallydame dies, he leaves behind an incredible legacy - a test of finding an "Easter egg" hidden in the Oasis. The winner of this trial will receive a huge fortune and complete control over the Oasis. Millions of players from around the world are beginning to look for this "Easter egg," including the main character, a guy named Wade Watts, also known as Parzival.

Wade and his friends, known as the High Fives, find themselves in an epic race with a malevolent corporate giant looking to seize control of the Oasis and use it for their own selfish ends. Under Partsival's leadership, the group is forced to overcome the dangers and trials that threaten them in both virtual and real worlds.

With each step, they move closer to discovering the mystery, but they also realize that the whole world is watching them, and that the consequences of winning or losing this game can be colossal.
